Chapter Fifteen: Seven Months & Late Night Out.
--
-Sydney’s Point Of View-
I ran my tan fingers through my dark colored, curled hair sighing lightly as my huge hazel eyes darted around the park, looking for any trace of Ryan. I set my hand on my lap, staring at the wooden picnic table, getting lost in my own thoughts.
I haven’t really thought about what I was doing with giving Ryan a second chance, putting myself out there again to get hurt again, maybe even worst this time around but I guess it didn’t really matter to me. I mean, it does, but it doesn’t. Ryan is going to be in my life no matter if I want him to be or not: I’m having his baby.
“Sydney!” I heard a voice shout, pulling me from my thoughts. I looked up, brushing a piece of my hair be hide my ear, seeing Ryan walking towards me. He licked his lips slightly, shoving one of his hands in his jean pocket; his other hand held a bag.
I smiled weakly, standing up and flatting down my shirt over my medium sized, still growing, baby bump.
When Ryan reached our table, he set down the bag on the top of the table and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him back.
“So, how have you been?” He asked when we pulled away. I bit my bottom lip, sitting back down, and setting my hands down on my lap.
“Fine, I guess. I mean… I’ve been better…” I admitted, glancing over at him. He nodded, agreeing with me on my last comment.
“Me too. I’ve been feeling… depressed without you.” He muttered, looking away and staring at the grass, not daring to make eye contact with me.
“Ryan…” I started, sighing softly. “Even… if we do… get back together… things aren’t going to be the same. It’s going to take a lot of will power to be able to trust you again.”
“I know… It’s just that… I don’t know what else to do, Sydney. I tried everything. I love you. So much. And I made one mistake, one mistake and I’m really going to have to suffer from it for the rest of my life? We live and we learn. Not everyone is perfect.”
“No one is perfect.” I commented, moving my hand down, so it was sitting on the bench, resting near Ryan’s.
“Exactly!” He exclaimed, shaking his head. “We all make mistakes!”
“But you broke my heart!”
“I didn’t mean too!” He defended, looking down at me, his eyes glossing up with tears.
“I know, but you did.” I said softly, my own tears filling up with tears.
“I didn’t come here to fight with you, Sydney. I came here to try and get you back, and that’s what I attend on doing.” He said firmly, as a tear fall down his cheek. He looked away, quickly wiping it.
“And how do-” I started saying but he cut me off by handing me a white envelope. “What is this?”
“Open it.” He stated, digging around in his bag for a second than pulling out a circle shaped box.
I bit my lower lip, ripping open the envelope and pulling out a card. The front was red, it had pink flowers thrown all over, and in sliver writing it said:
“These seven months that we have been together.”
I swallowed, flipping the card open and slowly reading the writing inside:
“These seven months that we have been together
Have been the loveliest of all my life.
All moments dance within your balmy weather,
Nor could my heart be anything but blithe,
Knowing I have all that I desire.
You've chosen me, with all the world to choose,
On whom your glance falls like a holy fire,
Undoing all that would such joy refuse.”
Tears rimmed over and slipped down my naturally tan cheeks, I looked over at Ryan, slowly closing the card.
“Today would have been our seven month anniversary.” He announced, opening the top to the box and revealing a cake.
I nodded, wiping under my eyes. “I know.”
He smiled weakly over at me, taking a bottle of gel frosting and standing up, writing on top of the cake: “I love you. Please take me back?”
That’s when I burst out in sobs. I covered my face with my hands, not bearing to even glance at Ryan. He wrapped his arms around my body, pulling me close to me. I ended up throwing my arms around his neck, crying into his shoulder.
“I love you, Sydney. I’ll never do you wrong, ever again.” He whispered into my ear, kissing my hair and before I knew what was happening, I nodded and said: “I love you too.”
-Sam’s Point Of View-
“I’m so excited to find out the gender!” I smiled over at Chaz as he drove to the doctor’s office; one hand on the wheel, the other hand holding mine.
Today we were going to the doctors to find out the gender of the baby. I was excited, I didn’t care which gender the baby was. I kind of wanted a boy while Chaz wanted the opposite; a girl.
“Me too.” He smiled; bringing my hand up to his lips, and kissing my skin softly. “So after we go to the doctors, there’s a home depot right next store so we can pick up paint for the nursery.”
I nodded excitedly. “If it’s a boy, I want the nursery to be blue and brown.” I smiled over at him.
“Blue and brown sounds good.” He nodded, pulling into the doctor’s office. “And if it’s a girl…?”
“Pink!” I giggled, undoing my seatbelt and opening my door, sliding out of his truck.
“Of course.” He smirked, grabbing my hand as we walked up to the doors.
After I checked in, I took off my jacket, laying it over
my arm. “Want me to hang up your coat too?” I asked, looking over at him. He nodded, slipping off his jacket and handing it to me.
“Thanks baby.” He smiled, sitting down. I smiled, leaning over and hanging up the jackets on the coat rack when a small plastic bag fell out of Chazs pocket. I crinkled my eyebrows, bending over and picking up the plastic bag, standing up straight. I held the small bag between my thumb and index finger, studying it. Inside was this brown/dark greenish mix, the bag was half full with it.
I never paid much attention in health but if you ask me, it looked a lot like weed. I felt my heart speed up, pounding against my rib cage, just the thought of Chaz doing drugs made me sick to my stomach. He knew that I absolutely hated everything and anything that had to do with drugs.
I balled my fists up, turning on my heel and standing in front of Chaz. “What is this?” I asked firmly, holding out my hand, the bag lying on my palm.
He furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes making their way back up to my face. “That?”
“Yeah, Chaz.” I said, raising one of my eyebrows.
“T-that, Sam, is um… something we made in cooking today…”
“Oh.” I said, dropping the bag in his lap, and plopping down back into the chair next to him. I knew he was lying, he didn’t even take cooking. What did he think? That I was stupid? But I didn’t want to start a fight, not yet at least, I needed more evidence than that. But I was going to do something, before it was too late.
-Julie’s Point Of View-
I ran my fingers down and over my dress, smoothing out all the creases in it. I looked up across the table, smiling over at Justin. “So what’s the occasion?” I asked, reaching over and slipping my hands into his.
He squeezed my hands slightly, bringing them up to his mouth and kissing them softly.
“Nothing. What? I can’t take my amazing girlfriend out to dinner?” He asked with a smile plastered on his face.
I shrugged. “I just figured that after spending ten hours in the mall with me today that’d you’d be sick of me.” I laughed.
“No, never. I could never get sick of you.” He chuckled, leaning forward a bit.
“That’s what they all say.” I rolled my eyes playfully as the waiter came up to our table, asking for our orders.
“Could I just have the chicken French with mashed potatoes and green beans.” I answered, smiling, and folding my menu closed.
“Um Miss, the chicken French only comes with one side order.” She said cautiously, taking my menu.
“I’ll pay for two, it’s no big deal.” Justin butt in, also handing her his menu. “And I’ll take the Alfredo pasta, with extra Alfredo.”
“Okay, I’ll be back in a few minutes with your main course.” She smiled backing away before turning on her heel and walking back into the kitchen.
“God, that’s so embarrassing!” I blushed, looking down. “I’m such a fat ass.”
“You are not!” Justin exclaimed, shaking his head. “Your feeding for two, remember?”
“But the doctor said that a lot of pregnant women think they are eating for two, when really there not, remember?” I smirked back at him as he caressed my
hand lightly with his fingers.
He furrowed his eyebrows together. “Oh yeah… but still!”
“Still nothing.” I giggled, rolling my eyes.
“No but seriously, I love you.” He smiled at me, sipping his water.
“I love you too, Justin.” I smiled back at him, biting my lower lip.
“Julie,” He started, reaching for my hands over the table. “I really do love you. With all my heart. And even though we haven’t known each other for that long, I already know that I want to spend every second of everyday with you. And well, I know were moving at a very fast pace but this whole relationship started at a fast pace. Julie, will you marry me?” He fumbled with the pocket inside of his coat pocket, but then pulled out a black box. He got down on one knee and opened the box, waiting for an answer.
